Short answers to the questions we get most. If you don't find what you need, a person will reply to your email within one business day.

Getting started

What is a Brief?
A Brief is a shareable page built from your files, notes, and messages. Instead of reading everything, your recipient asks questions and gets answers grounded in the sources you added.
How do I create my first Brief?
Sign up, choose New Brief, paste context or upload files, then let Brieflin build the summary, entities, and quick-ask prompts. Review, edit the title, and publish.
What file types can I upload?
PDFs, plain text, and pasted content from email, Slack, or meeting notes. Text is extracted server-side and used as evidence for answers.

Sharing and recipients

Do recipients need an account?
No. A published Brief opens from its share link with no sign-up. They can read the summary and ask questions immediately.
Does the share link change?
No. Publishing returns the same link every time. Use New link only when you intentionally want to invalidate the old one.
Can I revoke access?
Yes. Rotate the link from the Brief page, or unpublish it to take it offline.

Plans and billing

What is included on the free plan?
Two Briefs with up to five sources each and thirty recipients, so you can run a real handoff before upgrading.
How do I change or cancel a plan?
Open Settings, then Billing, to upgrade, switch between monthly and annual, or cancel. Cancellations keep access until the end of the paid period.
What happens if I go over my Brief limit?
Your oldest Briefs stay active and the newest ones lock until you upgrade or delete a Brief.

Account and privacy

How do I reset my password?
Use Forgot password on the sign-in page. You'll get an email with a secure reset link.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. Settings includes a full data export and permanent account deletion. You can also file a request from Your Privacy Choices.
